For over thirty years, Dekoron metal instrument and control tubing products have been the standard for quality and design in the Process Control Industry. The Dekoron stainless steel tubing line offers the broadest range of high-performance products available anywhere, whether the job calls for single line tubing or multiple tube bundles. Each design is built to perform in severe operating environments.

Typical Application Includes:

  • Instrumentation and hydraulic control systems in chemical plants, refineries and paper mills
  • Pipeline control systems
  • Pipeline Ballast and storage systems on offshore structures and vessels
  • Ballast and storage systems on offshore structures and vessels
  • Uprighting control systems for platform jackets
  • Inflatable grouting packers
  • Downhole safety valve controls
  • Corrosion inhibitor injection systems

Constructed With Strong Corrosion-Resistant Tubing

Dekoron tubing sizes, stainless steel types and specifications can be matched to the exact control requirement. Standard sized include 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" O.D.'s with .035" to .065" wall thickness in either 316, 316L, 304 or 304L alloys. Metric sized and other tubing materials are also available. Manufacturing methods include seamless or welded under the following ASTM specifications:
A-213A-269
A-249A-450

High-Quality Polymeric Jackets Provide Added Protection

Core tubing is evaporated with the latest thermoplastic elastomeric compounds designed to outlast the life of most project tubing installations by reducing the possibility of corrosion and mechanical damage. They can stand up to a wide range of chemical inhibitors and seawater. Most jackets are manufactured from fire retardant, all-weather, abrasion-resistant compound, designed to remain strong and flexible through wide ranges of temperatures and pressures.

Tubing Bundles Offer Unique Advantages

Dekoron multiple tube bundles are constructed using long lengths of fully-annealed tubing just as individual wires are assembled into power cable. Usually costing less to install than separate individual tubes, bundles are easily measured and cut-to-fit most any span. The multiple tube design permits a single-run connection between control panels and designated junction points. The bundle design requires less space and fewer supports than single tube installations. Available in continuous lengths up to 20,000 feet, bundles eliminate the need of many fitting connections.

Custom-Engineered Designs

To provide additional crush and tensile strength, galvanized steel strap or served wire armor may be incorporated into the Dekoron bundle construction. Multi-functional designs also include electrical cables, wire ropes and combinations of tubing sizes. Our Dekoron Product Development Staff is available to assist with new applications, customer designs and installation suggestions.

Quality Testing

The quality of Dekoron products is assured through comprehensive test programs. Non-destructive hydrostatic and electric tests, hardness, bending, tensile strength and alloy verification are part of our standard tubing test methods. Special tests and design evaluations can be developed in conjuction with practically any customer requirement. Mill test reports, vertfication and licensing by world classification associations are available with most designs.

Tubing Selection Guide

The stainless steel tubing listed in this guide indicates maximum working pressures of most popular tubing choices. Tubing made from other stainless steel alloys or special performance metals including Incoloy, Monel and Hastelloy may be incorporated into any Dekoron design. Let us help you select the tubing that is right for your application.

Dekoron Stainless Steel Tubing

In addition to the jacketed Dekoron single line and bundled tubing is also available. This high-quality tubing is furnished in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" O.D. x .035" wall sizes from 316 or 304 alloys. It is supplied in 20ft. straight lengths or continuous coils ranging up to 3,000 ft. Dekoron tubing is manufactured to a rigid specification based on ASTM A-269 and A-450. A precision TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process combined with a circumferential "conditioning" step provides a smooth, uniformly round outer surface compatible with compression fittings. Dekoron tubing is fully annealed assuring maximum ductility, cleanliness and corrosion resistance.
